Phoenix Dance Theatre is delighted to announce that the company’s 25th anniversary tour will feature two new works co-commissioned by Sadler’s Wells. With the support of London’s premiere dance house, Phoenix will work with Javier de Frutos and Arthur Pita to create new repertoire for 2006. The world premiere at Sadler’s Wells on 2 - 4 March 2006, will also feature a new solo from Artistic Director, Darshan Singh Bhuller and a duet, Pave up Paradise, from Ben Duke & Raquel Meseguer.

Artistic Director, Darshan Singh Bhuller says, “this is an exciting development for Phoenix and one that demonstrates how far the company has developed since we relaunched the company in 2003. Alistair Spalding and his team at Sadler’s Wells have consistently supported Phoenix. Our work together on these new commissions is a logical progression to our relationship and will bring benefits to company, venue and audiences.”

Chief Executive and Artistic Director at Sadler’s Wells, Alistair Spalding says: “I’m delighted to be developing our relationship with Phoenix for the new season. The work we have co-commissioned by Javier de Frutos and Arthur Pita features as part of my vision to transform Sadler’s Wells from a receiving house to producing house, supporting some of the most exciting choreographers in dance today.”
