Phoenix Dance Theatre is creating an original dance work, “Windrush: Movement of the People” to celebrated the 70th anniversary of the arrival of the SS Empire Windrush to the UK with the first set of Caribbean migrants in significant numbers. This new work is supported by Garfield Weston Foundation, the Foyle Foundation and The Linbury Prize for Stage Design 2017.
The original music score for the dance work “Windrush: Movement of the people” will be composed by Gary Crosby. Phoenix Dance Theatre gratefully acknowledges support from PRS for Music Foundation’s Open Grant for supporting the composition of this new music score.
The Windrush education outreach programme for the city of Leeds is supported by Leeds Inspired Main Grant.
The creation of the new dance work “Calyx” by new choreographer Sandrine Monin was funded by Fenton Arts Trust and Leche Trust.
The original music score for the dance work “Calyx” composed by Roberto Rusconi was funded by The Radcliffe Trust and the Hinrichsen Foundation.
