Phoenix Dance Theatre’s Artistic Director Sharon Watson has choreographed and commissioned a variety of critically acclaimed productions for the company. In Phoenix Dance Theatre’s expansive history, the company has worked with a range of the most sought-after choreographers and some promising rising starts of the dance world including Christopher Bruce CBE, Sir Richard Alston CBE, Ben Duke, Mark Baldwin, Michael Clarke, Philip Taylor and many more.
Phoenix Dance Theatre premieres its productions annually at the Leeds Playhouse before touring throughout the UK. The Company’s touring seasons typically run from February to June (spring) and October to December (autumn) – appearing at national and international middle scale venues, international festivals and corporate events.
ReFINED is Phoenix Dance Theatre’s rural touring offer with a specially curated programme made up of excerpts from the company’s repertoire. The company offer this programme to unconventional performance locations in rural areas to bridge a gap in the access rural communities have to contemporary dance performance. Phoenix Dance Theatre’s Access & Education department offers workshops to local communities in the rural areas that the company perform in.
