Next month will see Phoenix Dance Theatre select an apprentice dancer or dancers for our apprentices scheme which is a graduate programme run by the Northern School of Contemporary Dance in Leeds. This selection process and the role of the apprentice plays an integral part in talent development, vital to the sector and essential to Phoenix. Apprentice programmes are hot on the government agenda right now, however dance gets a pretty rough deal when it comes to investment.
