This autumn Phoenix Dance Theatre is delighted to relaunch our Illuminate Dance provision offering creative dance classes for young people with additional needs.

Our Illuminate Dance sessions give young people aged 6-25 the chance to make new friends while learning new skills. The classes are ideal for those who are passionate about dance or just looking to try something new. The programme aims to improve our participants’ dance techniques as well as their health and fitness, whilst supporting them to develop social and communication skills. Participants are welcome to attend alone or along with a parent or carer who provides one-to-one support. Our staff are very experienced in dealing with a range of physical and behavioural needs and assure that there are no more than four young people to one member of the team.

Sessions run weekly on Saturdays in our professional dance studio at Phoenix Dance Theatre, St Cecilia Street, Leeds LS2 7PA.

Autumn Term: 14 September 2024 – 7 December 2024 (no class on 2 November)
Spring Term: 11 January 2025 – 5 April 2025 (no class on 22 February)
Summer Term: 26 April – 12 July 2025 (no class on 31 May)

Illuminate Juniors | 6-13 years | 2.40pm-3.40pm
Illuminate Seniors | 14-25 years | 4pm-5pm

The Illuminate Dance Saturday provision is currently free of charge, thanks to funding from the National Lottery Community Fund.
