We are excited to offer creative dance classes for young people with additional needs thanks to funding from the Jimbo’s Fund (Leeds Community Foundation).
Our Illuminate Dance courses give young people aged 6-18 the chance to make new friends while learning new skills and performing. The classes are ideal for those who are passionate about dance or just looking to try something new. With our programme, we aim to improve our participants’ dance techniques as well as their health and fitness whilst supporting them to develop social and communication skills.
Spring Term Dates 2022
15th January – 2nd April 2022 (no session on 26th February) = 11 WEEKS
- Illuminate Juniors (6-11 years) 14:40-15:40
- Illuminate Seniors (11-18 years) 16:00-17:00
We are able to subsidise our sessions thanks to funding from Jimbo’s Fund – therefore we request a contribution of only £30 per term per participant. Should these fees prevent a young and motivated person from attending our classes, please contact our team to discuss possible options. Household finances should not create a barrier to anyone accessing our provision.
How to take part:
We welcome the young participants to attend alone or with a parent/carer for one-to-one support. Our staff are very experienced in dealing with a range of physical and behavioural needs. We assure that there are no more than four young people to one member of the Phoenix Dance Theatre team.
Admissions are taken year-round depending on availability. For more information or to book a place, please contact our Access and Education department by calling 0113 236 8130 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
