We are excited to bring back our male-only event NO LIMIT on Sunday 9 February 2025, an event to celebrate the distinctive energy and dynamism that boys bring to the stage.

Phoenix Dance Theatre was founded in 1981 by three Black British men from the Chapeltown area of Leeds. Keeping true to our roots, we strive to challenge the stigma and preconceptions around gender in dance across all of our provisions.

We are proud to annually deliver Youth Dance Platforms as part of our commitment to providing performance opportunities for, and raising the aspirations of, young people. We invite the very best of local, regional and national talents to the Stanley & Audrey Burton Theatre, based within our HQ in Leeds, to present their work in front of an audience of up to 230 guests.

2022 saw the launch of NO LIMIT which was produced to celebrate the distinctive energy and dynamism that boys and male-identifying artists bring to performances. The diverse programme was made up of a broad-spectrum of performances by young people from community, school, college and university groups, through to Phoenix Youth Academy alumni and Phoenix Dance Theatre company dancers. NO LIMIT highlighted the inspirational nature of male dance and showcased the opportunities available for young male dancers locally, nationally and beyond.

The second of these male-only events will take place at the Stanley & Audrey Burton Theatre on Sunday 9 February 2025. The day will include workshops and warm-ups led by professional Phoenix Dance Theatre male company dancers and male dancers within the industry, as well as technical rehearsals. The event will end with the live theatre performance in front of an audience. Ticket sale information for the performance will follow in due course.
