New Apprentice Dancers

We are delighted to announce that Ana Fernández Melero and Candela Murrillo will be joining Phoenix Dance Theatre in August as apprentice dancers through the Postgraduate diploma at the Northern School of Contemporary Dance.
Ana Fernández Melero
Ana was born in Seville, South of Spain. She finished her Ballet studies at the Conservatoire of Seville in 2014. From 2014 to June 2016 she trained at Centro Andaluz de Dnza(CAD) developing neoclassic and contemporary tecnique, taught by Olivio Sarrat and Carolina Armenta. Whilst at CAD she performed works by Johan Inger, Claudia de Smet (Preljocaj repertory), Fabricce Eddelman (Nacho Duato repertory), Jose Carlos Blanco Martinez.
Ana will join Phoenix in August 2016 as an Apprentice Dancer through the Northern School of Contemporary Dance Postgraduate Diploma.
Candela Murrillo
Candela was born in Seville, Spain. She started her dance studies at the Conservatory of Seville at the age of 8 and at 18 moved to London to improve her English. Whilst in England Candela joined National Youth, taking part in BIG MOVE in London with a Wayne McGregor. On her return to Spain she then worked at “La Maestranza” Theatre on a Johan Inger project. Candela continued her studies at the Andalusian Dance Centre (CAD) -studying Neoclassical dance, working with choreographers such as Johan Inger and professional dancers such as Claudia Smet, Jose Carlos Blanco, Fabrice Edelmann, Eduardo Torroja. Alongside her dance training Candela also studied advertising at the university.
Candela will join Phoenix in August 2016 as an Apprentice Dancer through the Northern School of Contemporary Dance Postgraduate Diploma.
