VACANCY: Access & Education Freelance Dance Practitioners

Phoenix Dance Theatre is the UK’s longest standing contemporary dance company outside of London. Since the Company’s small beginnings in 1981, it has grown to be a key Northern forerunner in contemporary dance and for three and a half decades has performed across the globe educating and inspiring audiences through the medium of dance.

Alongside the performing company sits a successful Education programme reaching up to 20 000 participants per year.  Phoenix Dance Theatre’s Access & Education aims to empower, engage and inspire through high-quality dance provision.  Focusing on three key strands, namely: training dancers of the future, children and young people and the hard to reach – our Education team are committed to changing lives through dance.

Phoenix Dance Theatre is seeking Freelance Dance Practitioners based in West Yorkshire to deliver programmes in schools and community settings across the region. Applicants should have a minimum of three years’ full time training (ie at a University or Conservatoire) with an interest or experience in any or all of the following areas:

  • Early Years
  • Primary (KS1-KS2)
  • Secondary (KS3-KS5)
  • Cross-curricular
  • Inclusive Dance – working with young people with additional needs
