Jess Yeo

Professional Placement Dancer

Jess trained at London Contemporary Dance School, graduating with a first Class BA (Hons) degree, Here, she performed works by SAY, Liam Francis and gained experience rehearsal directing for James Cousins Company.

Her highlights include performing at LaVillette, Paris as part of ‘Fresh’ from The Place. Jess was awarded the Cohan Scholarship for outstanding potential as a performer, with the panel describing her ‘deep understanding of rhythm and aesthetics’. As part of her degree, she developed a particular interest in the relationship between dance and psychology.

From 2021-22 and 2023-24, Jess was part of Avant Garde 2, performing Hip-Hop Theatre works in London and the UK. Jess enjoys developing her versatility and has a distinction in Advanced 2 RAD Ballet.

Jess is the co-founder of Milton Keynes Dance Theatre, where she choreographs, teaches and produces original full-length productions for young dancers in her hometown. She enjoys sharing her passion for dance with people aged 2-70, teaching and assisting at The Place’s Centre for Advanced Training and Rambert.
