Lydia Herbert

Community Lead

Lydia has had a passion for dance from a very young age, joining the Centre for Advance Training scheme at Northern School of Contemporary Dance (NSCD) at the age of 15 before gaining a place on the Foundation course, Lydia then graduated from Northern School of Contemporary Dance with a First in BA in Dance, also receiving the Margaret Dunn Teaching Award.

She went on to complete her Certificate in Education, and began teaching contemporary dance, ballet and movement through acting at a college within Leeds. Alongside this, Lydia has worked as a freelance dance artist for several years, working with companies such as Phoenix Dance Theatre and NSCD. She has always had a passion for working within the community and inspire the younger generation.

Lydia is excited to work for Phoenix Dance Theatre as the Community Lead, and to continue to develop within the company.
