Philippa Plumtree-Varley

Trustee

Philippa is a qualified and currently practising solicitor with experience of working both in private practice and local authority, specialising in planning, highways and development law.

Prior to a career change into the legal sector, and with postgraduate qualifications in history and heritage management, Philippa worked for several years within the cultural arts sphere. This included time spent employed at Harewood House, The National Trust and Northern Ballet in roles focusing on audience engagement and development. Having danced in some form or another since being able to walk, Philippa also currently volunteers with the Leeds Girls Can initiative, England Athletics and teaches dance exercise classes when her spare time allows. She believes strongly in the ability of music, dance and movement to inspire, empower, enthuse the soul, and change lives.
