Every year we host our youth dance platform, ResTec (Respect, Protect), to raise awareness of different social issues through dance.

Our professional practitioners work in local secondary schools across Leeds during an intensive period in the Autumn term to create dance pieces that explore various social themes. In addition to this, we welcome dance groups from schools and colleges around the country to apply to perform in this show.

For the opportunity to perform alongside Leeds school groups, our Phoenix Youth Academy groups and dance groups from across the UK, we welcome applications of interest from schools and organisations across the country who would like to create an appropriate piece of dance to perform at this platform at the Stanley & Audrey Burton Theatre.

This year we invite you to select your own relevant social issue linking to the theme RESPECT / PROTECT and to implement sound/voice/body percussion into your choreography.
