Phoenix Dance Theatre bids farewell to Antonio Borriello
23 May 2024
On Wednesday, May 22, we bid a heartfelt farewell to Professional Training Manager Antonio Borriello as he embarks on a new phase in his career.
Antonio joined our company as a dancer in 2012 and has since had a remarkable journey, transitioning from freelance artist to Phoenix Youth Academy coordinator and then to his most recent role as Professional Training Manager. Since the launch of the Phoenix Youth Academy platform in 2015, Antonio has taught hundreds of young people, guiding many of them into the next stages of their creative careers within the dance industry. Initially starting with just one academy, Antonio has played a pivotal role in expanding our reach to seven regional areas in the North of England.
Antonio shared his reflections on his time at Phoenix on Instagram.
I will be forever grateful for the countless opportunities the company has provided. From company dancer, to freelance artist, to youth academy coordinator, to professional training manager, and occasionally rehearsal director cover too, since 2012 Phoenix has been an anchor in my life, and a place where I have always been able to express myself, grow both personally and professionally, develop my leadership skills, and make some lifelong friendships too. –
Antonio’s lifelong impact on Phoenix Dance Theatre will be cherished and remembered for years. His admirable work in helping hundreds of young people develop their creative skills through dance will be greatly missed. We wish Antonio all the best as he embarks on a new chapter outside the contemporary dance world.
