Executive Director Charis Osborne named in ‘Ribbons’ sculpture by Pippa Hale

16 Oct 2024

We’re proud to announce that our Executive Director, Charis Osborne, has been named as one of the 383 inspirational women of Leeds included in the sculpture Ribbons by artist Pippa Hale.

Unveiled to the public on Saturday 12 October, the sculpture celebrates many inspirational women, both past and present, who have made a contribution to the city of Leeds. Following a public call out in 2019, over 600 nominations were received: the criteria being that women must have lived or worked in the Leeds city boundaries for at least one year. Some women received multiple nominations leaving a total of 383 for inclusion on the sculpture.

Charis has been recognised for her instrumental contribution to our company’s development and outreach work. Alongside Charis, we’re delighted to see that former Artistic Director Sharon Watson MBE, former Interim General Manager Tracy Witney, and Nadine Senior MBE have also been named in the sculpture.

We’d like to congratulate Charis on this achievement, alongside so many other inspirational women in the arts who have been recognised for their contribution and achievements.

Ribbons is located in Quarry Hill, in between Leeds Playhouse and Leeds City College.
