We’re pleased to announce the appointment of Mayowa Ogunnaike as our newest Associate Artist.

Bringing a dynamic blend of creativity, passion, and experience, Mayowa is set to enrich the company’s vibrant repertoire and contribute to our ongoing commitment to fostering and supporting the development of dance artists in their careers.

Since graduating in 2017 from Trinity Laban with first-class honours and receiving the award for ‘Outstanding Achievement in Choreological Studies,’ Mayowa has maintained a strong connection with Phoenix Dance Theatre. She initially joined us as an apprentice dancer and has since performed works by a diverse range of choreographers. Currently, Mayowa is engaged in new productions with Gary Clarke Company and Léa Tirabasso. In 2024, Mayowa was appointed as a Phoenix Fridays artist where she developed her teaching practice alongside regularly joining us as a guest artist for open company classes.

We’re excited to continue to support Mayowa in her career journey and look forward to the valuable contribution her distinctive styles and techniques will bring to our company.
