There were 31 award categories presented at the English Women’s Awards-North 2018, and we are very pleased to announce that Phoenix’s Artistic Director, Sharon Watson, won the award for Contribution to Arts and Culture.
The awards acknowledged and celebrated the achievements of British Women including female entrepreneurs, civil servants, charity founders amongst other professionals, whose hard work, talent and commitment is often under-represented.
The English Women’s Awards – North 2018 have been inspired by the success of Scotland’s inaugural Women’s Awards 2017 which also showcased some of the most hard working, talented and committed women in Scotland.
The awards are run by Creative Oceanic, Irfan Younis, CEO of Creative Oceanic said: “We would like to congratulate all of our nominees and winners for the inaugural English Women’s Awards – North who have achieved so much in their lives. The ceremony provided the opportunity for women to showcase their hard work and we are looking forward to growing the awards in the future.”
The evening also helped to raise funds for the official charity partner Smart Works, an organisation which empowers women in need by providing them with the attire, advice, training and confidence that they need to unlock their potential and success in the workplace.
