Dr Watson is on a roll. Phoenix Dance Theatre’s Artistic Director, Sharon was today announced as a Senior Leader finalist in the Arts and Media category of the Black British Business Awards.

The awards which launched in 2014 are the only premium awards programme which celebrate the exceptional performance and outstanding achievement of black entrepreneurs and professionals operating across the UK.

Sharon who earlier this week was awarded an Honorary Doctorate from Leeds Beckett University said: “wow, what a week. Firstly, to be recognised by Leeds Beckett for my contribution to the arts and wider culture sector and now to be recognised by the Black British Business Awards alongside such incredible businessmen and women is truly an honour.”

Sharon will be joined by Finalists from six categories including: Arts and Media, Consumer and Luxury, Entrepreneur, Financial Services, Professional Services and Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM) with the winners of each category being announced on 3 October 2019.

She continues, “earlier this year I celebrated my tenth year as Artistic Director of Phoenix Dance Theatre and these recognitions and awards reaffirm that a person from small beginnings, can follow a dream and through hard work and lots of perseverance, make a change.”
