Online Phoenix Youth Academy classes – Disclaimer

We kindly ask that all students and Parents/Carers to read through the disclaimer before your child takes part into our online dance training:

Phoenix Dance Theatre advises that whenever a student decides to take part in any of our online dance classes, he/she should be in good physical condition and able to safely participate in dance training.

You should consider consulting a medical professional before engaging in any new form of physical exercise to make sure it is suitable for your child and his/her level of fitness.

If your child is partaking in our online dance training programme, parents/carers will take full responsibility for their Health and Safety.

Parents/Guardians are made aware that when participating in online dance classes there is a possibility of physical injury. They are therefore voluntarily agreeing to assume full responsibility for any such injury or accident, which might occur during any of the online activity.

Our tutors will explain each exercise and routine clearly to ensure safety, however with digital training teachers won’t be able to physically spot any potential hazards or issues with technical form therefore students must take extra care and responsibility when practising at home/on their own.

In addition, we would highly recommend that a parent/carer is physically present in the room or within close proximity to oversee activity and be on hand should the student need assistance.

Health and Safety is a priority to us and therefore we ask you to consider the following whilst dancing at home.

  1. Choose appropriate clothing and footwear for the activity you are taking part in. For example, if your warm up contains cardio activity, consider the use of trainers to protect feet, ankles, and knees.
  2. Consider the space in which you will take part in the activity. Remove any potential hazards from the area including furniture and objects with sharp edges. Be aware of slippery floors and chose appropriate footwear accordingly.
  3. Should you adjust any of the routines in relation to your space, make sure to choose variations you can perform safely to avoid risk of injury.
  4. If you develop any pain at home caused by the exercise you are doing, consider variations to the activity to make it more suitable and comfortable. If the pain is related to an injury, make your parents/carers aware and consider seeking medical advice.
  5. Keep hydrated throughout the session.

Please note the above are general guidelines to ensure basic health and safety of the students taking part in our dance classes at home. Should the student develop pain or discomfort while training at home, parents/carers should consider if and when seeking professional medical advice.

Phoenix Dance Theatre and the tutors shall not be liable for any claims for injuries or damages resulting from or connected with the use of our online dance training videos.

We further disclaim any liability caused by intentional or unintentional negligence in the use of our virtual sessions.
