Emelia Macmichael

Professional Placement Dancer

Emelia began her early dance training at age 4 in Wiltshire, and later moved to Vancouver, Canada at 13, where she trained in Ballet, Contemporary, Jazz, and Hip Hop. She spent four years there, attending a variety of dance competitions and conventions across North America.

Emelia chose to return to the U.K to continue her studies, where she graduated in 2026 with a First-Class Honours Degree from the Northern School of Contemporary Dance. During her time in training, Emelia was fortunate to work with a range of choreographers including, Amaury Lebrun, Antonio Buhkar Ssebuuma, Bruce Wong, Keira Martin, and Carlos Martinez, as well as performing a re-work of ‘Forest’ by Robert Cohan, staged by Darshan Singh Bhuller. 

Most recently, Emelia performed in a restaging of Akram Khan’s iTMOi and The Jungle Book Reimagined by Angela Towler and Sadé Alleyne. 

Emelia joined Phoenix Dance Theatre as an apprentice in 2026.
