Tony Polo

Company Dancer

Tony joined Phoenix Dance Theatre in January 2024.

Tony was born in Glasgow, Scotland and started his dance journey at the age of 18. He began his training at Dance Studio Scotland, specialising in a variety of styles. During this time he was also selected to join the Scottish Ballet Youth Exchange which saw him performing internationally in Torino and New York City.

In 2020 he started his training at Northern School of Contemporary Dance, and throughout this time he has worked with many industry professionals including Oona Doherty, Saju Hari, Ben Wright, Company Chameleon, Gracefool Dance Collective and Glitterbomb Dance Company.

Since graduating he has been freelancing around the Leeds area, and has since worked with choreographer Carlos Pons Guerra in the opera show Maria De Buenos Aires in association with Northern Opera Group. More recently he has collaborated with Imogen Reeve of Excessive Human Collective in a Research and Development, and also with Eliot Smith Dance in their festive dance work entitled The Three Jolly Ghosts of Christmas.
