Zia Husbands
Junior Dancer

Zia Husbands grew up on the Sunshine Coast, Australia, and began their professional dance training at Brent Street in Sydney before moving to London to complete a BA (Hons) at Rambert School of Ballet and Contemporary Dance.
Zia has toured the UK with Theatre-Rites and Miguel Altunaga’s ‘Eshu at the Crossroads’ and Crystal Pite’s ‘Frontier’ with Ballet BC. Zia has also performed ‘JOIN’ by Ioannis Mandafounis with Dresden Frankfurt Dance Company, and ‘GRIEF FLOATS’ by Company of Others. Alongside theatre work, Zia has worked in screen dance, working with BalletBoyz on their upcoming film and 201 Dance Company’s ‘Power of Love’ for Brighton Pride 2026. Since 2023, Zia has been performing in a multitude of festivals including Sydney Festival with Stephanie Lake Company, Resolutions Festival in ‘TEKOHA’ by Vivian Guyrá, Serendipity Festival with Perspectives Media Collective, and Southbank Centre’s ‘You Are Here’ Festival performing ‘Under Pressure’ by Holly Blakey. Zia has participated in secondments and research and development projects with Faye Stoeser, Australian Dance Theatre, Dance Makers Collective, and Lunatics and Poets. Zia is excited to be joining Phoenix Dance Theatre for the 2026/27 season.
