Company Dancer
We’re seeking expressions of interests for professional dancers to join the company during its 2026/27 season.
We are holding auditions in London and Leeds for contemporary dancers of all genders with a strong classical foundation and at least 2 years of experience in a dance company setting to join the company from August 2026.
Whilst proudly honouring the past and building upon our 40+ year legacy, our aim is for the company to grow and innovate, and to continue to be recognised as one of the UK’s leading contemporary dance companies. Auditions will include class and Phoenix repertoire, with the opportunity to work in process with the Artistic Director (Marcus Jarrell Willis), Head of Artistic Management and Company Dancers. Marcus is keen to spend time with invited dancers, exploring potential working relationships aligned with his artistic direction and the evolving culture of Phoenix Dance Theatre.
You will join at an exciting time for the company, as we embark on the creation and Spring tour of our 2027 full-length narrative production.
Reflecting the heritage of Phoenix Dance Theatre, we are particularly interested in receiving applications from Black, Asian and global majority dancers who are interested in working in an open and collaborative environment.
Phoenix Dance Theatre is committed to supporting the next generation of aspiring dancers, so as part of your role, you will also support our acclaimed Learning & Development programme by delivering workshops, intensives and masterclasses throughout the year. You will also support social media marketing and fundraising initiatives. Training will be provided where relevant.
Salary: Level 2, £26,000- £30,000
Hours: Full time (35 hours per week)

Auditions
Auditions are by invitation only and will be held in both London & Leeds w/c 8 June. Applicants are able to select their preferred audition date when applying. The schedule will be sent out to shortlisted candidates on invitation to audition.
London Audition
Date: Monday 8 June
Venue: Sadler’s Wells East, 101 Carpenters Rd, Stratford Cross, London E20 2AR
Leeds Audition
Date: Wednesday 10 June
Venue: Phoenix Dance Theatre, 2 Cecilia St, Quarry Hill, Leeds, LS2 7PA
