Spring Tour 2026
Following successful runs in Leeds and York, we’re back on the road this Spring/Summer, sharing our critically acclaimed mixed bill, Interplay, with new audiences across the country.
Summer Dance Platform
Friday 10 & Saturday 11 July
Our annual Summer Dance Platform celebrates the skill and creativity of young dancers from across the North and beyond. The vibrant programme features a diverse range of performers, including our Phoenix Youth Academy students and Saturday School students, all presented at The Stanley & Audrey Burton Theatre.

Phoenix Fridays: Douglas Thorpe’s studio sharings
Friday 10 & Friday 17 July
As part of this year’s Phoenix Fridays artist residencies, Douglas Thorpe will present a two-part series of studio sharings, showcasing choreographic work created in collaboration with our company dancers. Each session will explore his interest in connection and interaction through partner work. Our Phoenix Fridays studio sharings are open to everyone and free to attend.
Freelance Networking Summer Social
Friday 24 July
Join us this July for an evening of networking, discussion, and connection with like-minded creatives from across the North. Our Freelance Networking Summer Social is a great way for freelancers from across all disciplines to meet our team, connect with dance artists, and build connections with other freelance creatives.
For young people & children
Saturday School- Summer Term
Saturday 25 April – Saturday 11 July 2026
Our weekly classes are a great way for young dancers aged 4-18 to kick off their weekends over the summer term. Whether a young mover is stepping into the studio for the first time or they’re already experienced in dance, our practitioners are here to support and inspire their journey.
Our classes offer a welcoming space for social connection, confidence building, and developing dance technique, with opportunities to share their work in studio sharings and even on stage.
Phoenix Youth Academy Auditions
June
Auditions for dancers aged 13-18 to join our Phoenix Youth Academy 2026/27 cohorts will take place throughout June across York, Leeds, Sheffield, Doncaster, and Oldham. Since 2009, our pre-vocational programme has provided aspiring dancers with the essential skills and techniques needed to support their progression towards a professional dance career.
Graduate Summer Intensive 2026
Monday 20 – Friday 24 July
Our five-day intensive is designed to challenge and inspire recent dance graduates by bridging the gap between training and professional life. Each participant will have the opportunity to work with our company dancers and artistic team, while gaining valuable insight into what it is like to be a dancer in a repertory company.
Summer School 2026
Monday 3 – Friday 7 August
Whether a young person is new to dance, trains regularly, or is looking to take their next steps into contemporary dance, our summer school is a welcoming space for dancers aged 13-18 to explore creativity and develop their skills.
Participants will learn and develop choreography alongside our Summer School teachers and present their piece in an informal studio sharing at the end of the week.
